A sweet, poignant little movie that hasn't been on anybody's radar since it sank from view in 1972. Notable for its frank treatment of teen sexuality and abortion, this is the kind of studio movie they stopped making a few years later. Pamela Sue Martin's film debut and a US entry in the Cannes Film Festival. The movie's in color but this trailer, taken from a substandard vhs source, is black-and-white and bears the exploitation title Sex and the Teenager.

my friends were surprised that when we were talking about the movie, i told them that 4 people in the Robocop cast. Peter Weller and Ray Wise(S5) Paul McCrane(S6) and Kurtwood Smith(S7) all wound up of seasons of 24'

Saw Vertigo for the first time when it was reissued in the '80s, as part of a batch of Hitchcock-owned titles that had been locked up in the vault for a couple of decades (also including Rope, The Trouble With Harry, The Man Who Knew Too Much and Rear Window). The film blew my everlovin' teenage mind at the time, and I've been lucky enough to see it in a theatre a few times since then, and it never fails to suck me into its descent into madness...

Truly a film both of and ahead of its time. It was a valedictory for Karloff, only a year or two before his passing...
