Christopher Landon

Prolific screenwriter Christopher Landon, son of actors Michael Landon and Lynn Noe, is perhaps best known as the creative voice behind hit franchises Paranormal Activity (2-5) and Happy Death Day.

Landon attended Loyola Marymount University to study Screenwriting, but dropped out after three years when filmmaker Larry Clark read one of his scripts and offered him a writing job.

In 1999, Landon came out as gay in front of the media after co-writing the film Another Day in Paradise. Aware that homophobia may harm his potential in the industry, he said, “I may fall off some list because of my sexuality. But if that happens, then I really don’t want to be on that list anyway.” Christopher and his partner, Cody Morris, have two sons together named Beau and August Kelly.

Landon went on to write the neo-noir psychological thriller Disturbia (2007), as well as wrote/directed Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse (2015) and Freaky (2020).

His latest film, We Have a Ghost, starring David Harbour, Jennifer Coolidge, and Anthony Mackie, premiered on Netflix in February of 2023
