Patton Oswalt on

Dead Bang

Released 1989
Distributor Warner Bros. Pictures

Late-period John Frankenheimer is better than no Frankenheimer at all and this rather standard thriller is elevated not only by the director’s still formidable chops but the production design of Ken Adam on vacation from the Bond films. Don Johnson plays an LA homicide detective trailing a murderer with a white supremacist agenda. Penelope Ann Miller and Bob Balaban co-star, and Jerry Beck, the real-life cop who inspired Johnson’s character, makes a cameo.

I disagree, but he dated Christy Canyon so I’ll give him that. What a terrible poster.
