Directed by Gregory Widen, The Prophecy features the scrambled plot and supernatural characterizations of a Marvel Universe movie. Christoper Walken plays the angel Gabriel, who comes to earth in search of a useful “evil” soul but has to deal with the angel Simon, played by Eric Stoltz. Different, to be sure, the film sports a fine supporting cast — including Virginia Madsen, Amanda Plummer, and Viggo Mortensen as Lucifer. Three, count ‘em, three sequels followed.

About Josh Ruben

Josh Ruben is an award-winning actor, writer, and director whose feature film Scare Me was picked up by Shudder after premiering at Sundance in 2020. His second feature, Werewolves Within, debuted at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival and won a Hollywood Critics Association Midseason award for "Best Indie." Ruben produced and co-stars in the vampire road trip movie Blood Relatives, which premiered at Fantastic Fest 2022. Ruben has directed and/or starred in thousands of comedic shorts, amassing views well into the billions. He directed and cameos in all 10 episodes of Funny or Die. Ruben currently stars in Travis Stevens' feature film A Wounded Man, which premiered at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival. Both are on Shudder.
