A parody of cult films that became a cult film itself, Galaxy Quest headlines Tim Allen and Sigourney Weaver as the stars of a science fiction show who come face to face with real aliens. Alan Rickman and Sam Rockwell are amiable co-stars, and director Dean Parisot’s light-hearted approach is reminiscent of a kinder-gentler Mel Brooks.
