Norman
The full title of Joesph Cedar’s 2016 film tells the story; Norman: The Moderate Rise and Tragic Fall of a New York Fixer. On the marquees it was known simply as “Norman” and it stars Richard Gere as a fellow who survives doing favors for too-powerful people who don’t want to get their hands dirty. One of those too-powerful people is the Prime Minister of Israel. The well-received film co-stars Hank Azaria and Steve Buscemi.

Hi. Thanks for posting about this movie. I’m looking forward to seeing it. However, if you’re interested in non-Jews playing Jews and doing it very well (IMHO), check out Paul Giamatti’s performance in “Barney’s Version”, which is based on the last novel by the great Canadian Jewish writer Mordecai Richler. For this goy who grew up in a Jewish neighborhood in Chicago, Giamatti hit the nail on the head, in a performance that’s authentic without being caricatured – and, like Richler’s book is both tragic and hilarious.
