Music & Stories – Going Electric

Welcome to “Going Electric,” Music & Stories Chapter 5, Part 2. This story is one of the main reasons that I wanted to do this memoirs project. The three friends who set off with me to see Dylan that night in August of 1965 — Susan Miller, Leslie Maitland, and Dennis Benson — are very very special to me.

Beginning in 11th grade, we joined forces in the Culture Wars and took our position on the future side of the Generation Gap. It often was a thrilling experience. We shared the movies, music, books and art of the most tumultuous decade of the century. I hope that this set of stories captures for you what they mean to me.
